Servings: 4
This one is easy and a true crowd favorite! This is what we’ll be having tonight at our house 😍
Total Time 4 hours 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • For the chicken:
  • * 1½–2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • * ⅓ cup honey
  • * ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • * 4 cloves garlic minced
  • * 1 tsp fresh grated ginger or ½ tsp ground ginger
  • * 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • * 1 tsp sesame oil
  • * ½ tsp black pepper
  • For thickening the sauce optional:
  • * 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • * 2 tbsp water
  • For serving add:
  • * Cooked jasmine or brown rice
  • * Steamed broccoli
  • * Sliced green onions
  • * Sesame seeds

Method

  1. Add the chicken to your slow cooker.
  2. Make the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken, making sure the chicken is well coated.
  4. Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 3–4 hours, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. Remove and slice: Transfer the chicken to a cutting board and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  6. Thicken the sauce (optional): Pour the cooking liquid into a small saucepan. Mix the cornstarch and water together to create a slurry. Whisk it into the sauce and simmer for 2–3 minutes, until thickened and glossy.
  7. Serve: Slice the chicken and spoon the honey garlic sauce over the top. Serve with rice and steamed broccoli, then garnish with green onions and sesame seeds
